Pilot training in Nîmes attracts stakeholders
In France, the pilot training sessions took place from 2nd to 4th June 2009 and were hosted by the Lycée Dhuoda in Nîmes. Three one-day sessions were held on the following topics:
- Health, Safety and Environment
- Environmental awareness
- Technical English
Industry stakeholders, environmental NGOs and qualified teachers intervened during these sessions. 10 trainees from the onshore and offshore wind industry followed each session and provided their feedback on the quality and adequacy of learning assignments with regard to their everyday activities.
During the training period, the French Wind Energy Association held a press conference in the premises of the Lycée. Yves Pietrasanta, vice-President of Region Languedoc-Roussillon in charge of renewable energies, attended and spoke during the press conference. Yannick Régnier, coordinator of French consortium presented the Windskill project to the regional press.
