- Knowledge of safe and secure legal transportation of specific WT components, by country
- Know the delivery conditions per country and prevailing site conditions prior to final delivery
- Knowledge of specific WT weights and dimensions being transported
- A thorough knowledge of Health and Safety and the ability to identify unsafe working conditions in both specific terms and when prevailing weather conditions may become problematic take appropriate action
- A safe working knowledge of the countries highway codes.
- A working knowledge of the appropriate signage to be displayed during transportation.
- Be aware of the designated route and any hazards that may arise, considering daily updates of road works etc that may delay transportation or become problematic on consecutive runs due to the adverse loads of the WT components.
- The ability to recognise any problems with the load being carried and how to safely remedy the problem without injury to self or damage to component
- The ability to understand the risks of working in adverse weather conditions.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in the appropriate manner, and follow specific instructions.
- A safe working knowledge of the countries highway codes
- The ability to asses safe transporting conditions, in particular the state of temporary access roads in connection with the actual loads being carried and the need for adequately spaced/sized hard standings for off loading.
- The relevant health and safety qualifications appropriate to the job
