Following erection of the turbine and the installation of all components the commissioning process is structured as as a final quality control procedure and is focussed on putting the turbine into operation. The commissioning procedure is followed by a trial run of a duration determined by contract. After successful trials the turbine is handed over to the customer

The final functional check covers all hardware and software components and systems and all installed instruments. Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of turbine design is required.

The key sub-assignments have been classified as follows:

• Carry out final checks ("electrical-mechanical walk-down") in accordance with manufacturer´s specifications

• Connect voltage to the turbine

• Start-up the machine

• Compile list of non-delivered, missing items

• Carry out a test run

• Hand over to customer/operator

• Deliver product customer training as specified in the contract
