• Knowledge and understanding of the correct PSE equipment to be used and their functions and limitations.  Have a safe working knowledge of available pyrotechnics, where and how to safely use them

• Reliable handling and harnessing of PSE equipment. Safe use and working knowledge of pyrotechnics 

• Ability to carry out a functional check of PSE equipment, understand how to check use by/ test  dates on both PSE and pyrotechnics
