- Be aware of the limitations of the equipment both in use, during dry down periods and in storage. Ensuring that the equipment is adequately dry prior to storage and that all necessary precautions have been taken to maintain the integrity and the future safe working of the equipment.
Skills
- To use the correct lubricants on zips and fastenings to ensure that the equipment is ready for use without endangering the user. To know how and where to store the equipment after use and if necessary in storage.
Competences
- Able to identify wear and tear on the equipment over and above normal use and advise on issues of replacement parts.
